Clinic website checklist for doctors

Your clinic may have a great Google rating, but new patients rarely book on the rating alone. They tap through to learn more, and in a few seconds they decide whether to call you or the next clinic in the list. Here are ten things patients look for on a clinic website before they book, and how to get each one right.

1. What you treat, in plain language

List your main treatments clearly: root canal, scaling, braces, acne treatment, physiotherapy for back pain, and so on. Use the words patients actually search for, not only medical terms, and give each important treatment a short explanation.

2. Who the doctor is

Patients want to know who will treat them. Show the doctor’s name, qualifications, years of experience and a friendly, professional photo. A short personal note about how you treat patients builds more trust than a long list of degrees.

3. A booking button they can’t miss

Put a WhatsApp or call button at the top of every page, and keep it visible on mobile as the visitor scrolls. Every extra tap between interest and booking loses patients.

4. Timings, including today

Show your weekly hours and make it obvious whether you are open now. Many patients search in the evening or on Sunday; if you have late hours, say so prominently.

5. Location and directions

Add your full address, a Google Map, a nearby landmark or metro station, and parking information. Link straight to Google Maps directions.

6. Real reviews

Show your genuine Google reviews on the site and link to your Google profile. Never write testimonials yourself; patients can tell, and it damages trust.

7. Fees or starting prices

You don’t need a full price list, but showing a consultation fee or “starting from” prices for common treatments removes a major reason patients hesitate to call.

8. Photos of the clinic

A clean reception, treatment room and equipment reassure nervous patients. Use real photos of your own clinic rather than stock images.

9. Answers to common questions

A short FAQ section handles the questions your staff answer every day: Does it hurt? How many sittings? Do you accept insurance? Is parking available? Each answer is one less phone call and one more reason to book.

10. Fast loading on a phone

Most patients will open your site on a mobile phone, often on a slow connection. A heavy, slow site loses them before they see anything. Keep pages light and test on a real phone.

Bonus: connect it to Google

Link your website from your Google Business Profile and keep your name, address and phone number exactly the same on both. This helps Google trust your listing and can help you appear for searches like “dentist near me”.
